About ACP Treatment
‘Advanced Cosmetic Procedures’ or ACP is a new adaptation electrolysis which in its usual form, is best known as a permanent hair removal procedure. It works by passing an electrical current into the root of the hair follicle and killing it. This same principle can effectively be used for skin blemish removal. Skin tags, milia and blood spots as well as a host of other blemishes can be removed using this method. The electrical current passes down a probe and into the skin where it cauterises the blemish enabling it to be removed without surgery.
This treatment has a long history and an established safety record for skin blemish removal. ACP has been successfully used for many decades. Electrolysis has a long history and was used as far back as the 1900’s to treat broken capillaries, warts, spider naevi, port-wine marks and even xanthoma (yellow pigmented spots on the eyelids).
We can treat many skin blemishes that are not treatable on the NHS because they are considered cosmetic. Treatment is completely non-surgical, quick and relatively painless. For many skin lesions and blemishes, only one visit is necessary though we may ask you to come back for a review to check the final result.
If you would like to discuss possible treatment further then call us today or email us via the contact form on the right.
Please note: This treatment is not suitable for those with pacemakers, defibrillators, cochlear ear implants, or women who are, or, could be pregnant.
Please also note that from May 2023, Skin-hub will no longer be treating darker skin types such as Asian or black. This is due to these skin types being more susceptible to the risk of potential scarring.
