Venus Lake

What is a Venus lake?

A Venus Lake is a soft dark blue – purple minor vascular issue that is most common on the lips. They can be macule (flat) or papule (raised) and look like a small bruise, but are in fact enlarged blood vessels. They are more common in older people and can grow up to a cm in diameter. The colour disappears on compression of the macule or papule due to the clearance of blood from the dilated vessel.

What causes a Venus Lake?

The cause of a Venus Lake is unknown and unfortunately, for that reason, it is also unknown how to avoid them

Venus Lake Treatment

The minor proceedure is very simple and is much more effective than other treatments such as laser etc. Venus Lakes are treated using Advanced Cosmetic Procedures (ACP), a form of advanced electrolysis which is a very safe method.

During the treatment process, there are no injections, incisions, stitches and no chemicals or lasers are used. The treatment itself involves using a blunt needle the size of an eyelash. At the tip of the needle, some heat is used to intricately cauterize the lesion but tapping the blunt tip all over it. There is very rarely a spec of blood and a scab forms which drops off after usually 7-10 days

Please note: This treatment is not suitable for those with pacemakers, defibrillators, cochlear ear implants, or women who are, or, could be pregnant. Asian and darker skin types are not treated due to the increased risk of scarring.

Costs

The costs for a Venus Lake to be treated is normally just £50. But some larger ones may need more than one session at 8 weeks apart
