Milia or Milk Spots

Milia are very small white or milky-coloured spots found facing just out of the skin. They are usually 1-2mm in size and are found mainly on the face, commonly around the eyes and cheeks and are believed to be from when skin flakes or a protein called keratin becomes trapped under the skin.

Milia Treatment

Along with Blood Spots, I would say that Milia are the easiest and quickest treatment I perform. The process involves using a blunt needle the size of an eyelash. The tip of the blunt needle releases heat which is controlled to raise or lower the temperature. The settings are on low for Milia, as I gently press the needle into each one by only about 1mm. In the 1 second this takes, the heat is enough to basically fry the Milia. It shrivels up there and then and that’s it, simple. The body then works its magical repairing process and removes the dead tissue naturally over the next few days.

NOTE: There are no reasons to be concerned if your milia are near your eyes. This is an extremely safe and effective treatment which does not involve lasers, chemicals, freezing or injections.

Please note: This treatment is not suitable for those with pacemakers, defibrillators, cochlear ear implants, or women who are, or, could be pregnant. Asian and darker skin types are not treated due to the increased risk of scarring.

Costs

Most milia treatments I perform are usually completed within 5 minutes (50-60 of them) The minimum charge for any treatment is £50. If however, you have a more severe case of Milia, it would probably cost around £100.

  • Free consultations

  • 5 minutes - £50.00

  • 15 minutes - £100.00

  • 30 minutes - £150.00

Prices are fixed to reflect the actual treatment time taken. For example: If you have a 30-minute consultation and during that time you have a treatment to remove a couple of blemishes which takes 5 minutes or under, the cost is just £50. You are only charged for the hands-on time taken for the treatment itself.
